NORTH GREENVILLE FINISHES 2009 REGULAR SEASON WITH 5-0 SHUTOUT

Tigerville, S.C.—
On Tuesday the North Greenville men’s soccer team took the field for its final match of the 2009 regular season. The Crusaders would end the season on a high note with a 5-0 shutout win over the Lions of Emmanuel College.

The Crusaders registered the first goal of the game in the ninth minute when Jonathan Restrepo scored on an assist from Max Duarte. Fifteen minutes later Manuel Izguierdo scored the second goal on a pass from Chandler Patterson. Izguierdo added a second goal on a penalty kick in the 72nd minute. The third and fourth goals from the Crusaders came from Max Duarte (55th minute) and Seth Snyder (65th minute) who scored on assists from Jonathan Restrepo and Juan Carlos Aguilera.

“It was great to end the season on a high note” said head coach Chad Gfeller, “the team played great soccer tonight and Justen [Braddock] did a great job in goal.” Tonight’s game against Emmanuel was the last regular season game of the 2009 season for the Crusaders. North Greenville will wait to learn their seed for the NCCAA Regional Tournament later in November.
