CRUSADERS COMPLETE CHOWAN SWEEP ON FRIGID NIGHT IN TIGERVILLE

Tigerville, S.C.—
 Ten minutes before 7 o’clock the NGU men’s soccer team watched the Lady Crusaders beat the Chowan Hawks 2-0. At 7pm the North Greenville men’s team took the field at Pepsi stadium looking to add a “w” to the win column against the Chowan Men’s team.

The Crusaders would complete the soccer sweep of Chowan with an impressive 5-0 defeat. The Crusaders first goal came in the 23rd minute when Manuel Izguierdo scored with an assist from Max Duarte. Max Duarte added another assist when Chandler Patterson found the back of the net in the 32nd minute off of a Duarte pass.  Chandler Patterson scored a second goal in the 36th minute of the game. Jonathan Restrepo (51st minute) and Seth Snyder (75th minute) accounted for the last two NGU goals. Joel Watkins, Seth Snyder, and Ben Bosco all accounted for assists. Goal keeper Justen Braddock registered 3 saves and Nick Williams registered 2. “It was obviously a very good win for us” said head coach Chad Gfeller, “We came out aggressive and kept applying pressure and we came out on top.” The Crusaders take the field again on October 21 in Due West, South Carolina against the Erskine Flying Fleet with a 6pm kickoff.
