CRUSADERS BITTEN BY LIONS

Tigerville, S.C.—
While the rest of the students at North Greenville went home for fall break, the men’s soccer team stuck around for one more day in order to take on the Lions of Mars Hill College. Despite a comeback attempt by the Crusaders late in the match, the Lions would go on to win the Friday contest 2-1.

The Lions opened up the scoring with their first goal in the 33rd minute followed quickly by the second goal in the 38th minute. The score remained 2-0 until the 64th minute when Juan Carlos Aguilera found the back of the net on an unassisted goal. The comeback effort by the Crusaders would fall short. Goal keeper Justen Braddock tallied 3 saves in the 90 minute match. “It was a tough loss” said head coach Chad Gfeller, “it’s hard to play from behind the whole game and we just weren’t able to get that second goal however I’m proud of our guys for playing hard.”
The Crusaders next match will be a home match against Chowan on October 17th. The game is set to be kicked off at 7pm.
