CRUSADERS BITTEN BY COBRAS

Tigerville, S.C.-
Nearly four days after a 1-0 loss to Catawba College, the NGU men’s soccer team looked to right the ship against a talented Coker team. Despite the Crusaders’ best effort, the team would come up short losing a 3-0 decision.

The Cobras struck early with a penalty kick in the first minute of the game. The two other Coker goals came in the 31st and 67th minutes. Leaders for the Crusaders were Max Duarte, and Jonathan Restrepo who both had two shots on goal. Goalkeeper Nick Williams had two saves while goalkeeper Justen Braddock posted four saves. “We knew we were matched up with a very good team” said head coach Chad Gfeller, “they played really good defense and we just couldn’t get the ball past their back four”. The Crusaders next matchup will be September 10th at 4pm against Truett McConnell College in Cleveland, Georgia.
