Crusaders Open Season WIth 2-0 Shutout

Toccoa Falls, Ga
After a nine month layoff the North Greenville men’s soccer team looked to open the 2009 season with a win over Toccoa Falls College in Georgia.

With help from junior Jonathan Restrepo, and sophomore Matt Sekuras the Crusaders would come out on top with a 2 goal victory over the TFC Eagles.  Restrepo scored in the 60th minute on header with an assist from Ben Bosco. The second goal of the game for the Crusaders came in the 70th minute when Sekuras scored on a one on one beating the goal keeper. “We are happy to start the season off with a win” says head coach Chad Gfeller, “the team played well but we know the season is a marathon and we have to get better every game.” The Crusaders next game will be Saturday August 29th at Catawba. The Crusaders home opener will be September 2nd against Coker College.
