Senior Justin Garton (Germantown, N.C.) scored a pair of goals to lead host St. Andrews Presbyterian to a 4-2 win over North Greenville Saturday afternoon in Laurinburg, SC.
The Knights broke a late tie with two goals in the final 20 minutes to clinch the tough victory. The Crusaders had a three-game win streak snapped and fell to 4-7-0 on the year.
North Greenville’s two goals were by junior Seth Snyder (Fountain Inn, S.C.) and freshman Chandler Patterson (Charlotte, N.C.). Snyder put the visitors on the board in the 26th minute after receiving a giveaway in the 18-yard box. Snyder evened the score at 2-2 by ripping a shot over the goalie in the 40th minute. Junior Max Duarte (Porto Alegre, Brazil) was credited with an assist on Snyder’s tying goal.
Crusader freshman goalkeeper Nick Williams (Grayson, Ga.) had six stops. SAPC held a 18-14 shot advantage and a 8-5 corner kick edge.
