NGU MEN'S SOCCER BATTLES TOUGH AGAINST #12 LANDER

Playing against ranked opponents is a daunting task for any team, but the NGU Crusader men’s soccer team stood up to the challenge for a big part of their game with #12 ranked Lander University last week.

Despite dropping a 4-0 decision, the Crusaders were not scored upon until the 67th minute and Lander scored several goals as NGU was pressing forward to try to score late in the game.

Coach Chad Gfeller said his squad had ample chances in the first half, but could not put one in the net.  The teams battled to a 0-0 tie and said he was very pleased with his team’s performance against a nationally ranked opponent.

Next up for the Crusaders is six straight road games, beginning with a Saturday, Sept. 20 game at Mars Hill (NC) at 1:00 p.m.
