Crusader soccer falls at 7th ranked Carson-Newman 1-0

JEFFERSON CITY, TN- North Greenville University battled seventh-ranked Carson-Newman College to a scoreless tie for the first 55 minutes of the match. With 53 minutes remaining, Eagles midfielder Mark Labig took a pass from Renato de Freitas and launched a 30-foot floater to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead. The Crusaders had several shots-on-goal, but couldn't get it past the goalkeeper, and the Eagles held on for their 25th straight home victory.

North Greenville fell to 4-11-1 on the season. Carson-Newman improved to 13-1. The Crusaders will be back at Pepsi Field for Senior Day this Saturday against St. Andrews Presbyterian. The women's game is set for 1:00 p.m with the men to follow at 3:00 p.m.
