NGU Men's Lacrosse has added Griffin Stechmiller as a Graduate Assistant to the program. Griffin Stechmiller comes to North Greenville from Charlotte, NC where he played for Queens University of Charlotte from 2016-2019 and was elected as captain for his junior and senior campaigns. As a long stick midfielder for Queens, Stechmiller was a four time South Atlantic Conference (SAC) All-Conference member and was named a USILA All-American in 2019. Statistically, Stechmiller ranks second all time at Queens in both groundballs and caused turnovers with 244 and 66 respectively. Additionally, Stechmiller was named to the SAC Commissioner's honor roll four times, indicating he competed in a sponsored championship sport and maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher throughout the academic year.
Stechmiller brings some coaching experience to North Greenville, having worked with Team Carolina and Team 24/7 out of Charlotte as well as Lake Norman Charter high school out of Huntersville, NC. Stechmiller graduated from Queens University of Charlotte in 2019 with cum laude honors and a degree in business administration.
Head coach Corey Struss expects Stechmiller to be a huge addition to the staff. "Griffin will be a great addition to our staff. I have had the pleasure of watching him play up the road at Queens for four years and he has helped them become a national contender. I expect him to help our program do the same. As the graduate assistant, he will be an integral part of developing our players’ individual skillsets on the field, and also helping them enhance their knowledge of the game as a whole. His passion for lacrosse really shines through every time we have talked, and I am so excited he will begin his college coaching career here at North Greenville."
