Men's Lacrosse to take part in

The Berry College Men’s Lacrosse program will again play host this Fall in their 2nd annual “Faceoff for a Cause” along with the men’s lacrosse programs from Birmingham-Southern College, Catawba College, Emmanuel College, Georgia Tech, North Greenville University, Sewanee University of the South, and Young-Harris College on Saturday, Oct. 22nd from 8:30 am - 6:45 pm at Berry College Valhalla Stadium.

The event includes scrimmages between the teams, FREE youth clinics, and a fundraiser as the squads look to raise $10,000 for the nonprofit organization Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP).

“We’re excited to again host such a wonderful day of Lacrosse and charity,” said Berry’s Head Coach Curtis Gilbert. “We hope that both the attending Colleges and the growing Georgia lacrosse communities show their support and help us raise money and awareness for this great cause.”

Special thanks are already due as both the referee’s and Aramark Dining Services have expressed their support for the cause.  The referees will be donating their fees to the WWP, while Aramark Dining Services has offered to feed all attending players for free. Last years ‘Face-Off for a Cause’ event raised just over $6,700 in their inaugural effort.

“We were happy with last years event, but ultimately fell short of our Fundraising goals.  I could not be more excited that some really terrific programs have joined in the cause, and I think this year is going to be even better,” explains Gilbert. “I cannot think of a better cause to support that the Wounded Warrior Program and I think you would be hard pressed to find a better venue that can accommodate than Valhalla Stadium.”
