Misenheimer, N.C. – North Greenville men’s lacrosse dropped its third consecutive game, Saturday afternoon, following a 12-9 loss to Pfeiffer.
The Crusaders evened the score at half at 6-6 after a four goal second period. Alex Proly and Jalen Bell scored for NGU in the first quarter but the Falcons found the net three times to earn the one point lead.
NGU scored three un-answered to open up the second period to take a 5-3 advantage. Sean Lemay got things started while Drew Wassenaar and Andrew Loach also scored. Pfeiffer would answer with two goals to even the score at five with 4:52 left in the half.
Proly’s second goal of the game came at 1:26 in the second to give NGU a 6-5 lead but a goal with less than 20-seconds left on the first half clock would even the score at six at intermission.
The only two goals of the third period came from Pfeiffer as the Falcons gained an 8-6 edge over NGU. The Crusaders opened the fourth quarter with Loach’s second one timer of the day to cut the lead to one. Pfeiffer would outscore North Greenville 4-2 in the final 10:55 though to earn the win. Wassenaar would add a second goal of the game while Proly pocketed his third of the day.
The Crusaders fell to 4-10 overall and 2-4 in Conference Carolinas play. NGU will host Mars Hill University on April 20th in the final regular season game of the 2016 season. Faceoff is scheduled for 7pm in Pepsi Stadium.
