Crusaders fall victim to Belmont Abbey

Belmont, N.C. – North Greenville men’s lacrosse dropped a 17-3 decision to Belmont Abbey, Saturday afternoon.

Abbey jumped out to a 13-0 lead on NGU before Drew Wassenaar scored North Greenville’s first goal with 6:02 left in the third quarter. BAC dropped three more goals to make the score 16-1 with 3:12 left in the third.

Belmont Abbey would score once more in the fourth quarter, a goal that was sandwiched between two NGU one timers. Alex Proly would score on an assist from Andrew Loach to cut BAC’s lead to 16-2 while Chris Carpenter would put a Wassenaar pass in the back of the net to make the score 17-3.

North Grenville fell to 4-9 overall and 2-3 in league play. The Crusaders will travel to Pfeiffer on April 16th for a 1pm matchup with the Falcons.
