Gaffney, S.C. - North Greenville suffered its second Conference Carolinas loss of the season on Wednesday in a 27-5 defeat to first ranked Limestone College.
The Saints grabbed a 3-0 lead over the Crusaders but Alex Proly answered with his first goal of the game to pull NGU to within two. Drew Wassenaar scored three Limestone goals later to make the 6-2.
Limestone would score the next seven goals to go up by 11 before Wassenaar scored goal of the game on an assist from Sean Lemay. The Saints tacked on three more goals before half to lead 16-3.
North Greenville score twice more in the second half as Andrew Loach and Wassenaar scored on back-to-back possessions. #1 Limestone proved too much for NGU though hammering out 11 more scores in the second half to down NGU for the second season in a row.
North Greenville fell to 3-7 overall and 1-2 in league play. The Crusaders will host Lees-McRae College on March 30th at 4pm in Pepsi Stadium.
