North Greenville's Win Streak Snapped by Young Harris

Young Harris, GA—North Greenville had its two game win streak snapped on Wednesday night as Young Harris earned an 11-5 win over the visiting Crusaders.

The Mountain Lions jumped out to a 4-0 lead on NGU after scoring one goal in the first period and three in the first 10 minutes of the second. North Greenville got on the board with 9:25 on the clock as Ethan Landreth scored an unassisted goal to make the score 4-1.

The Mountain Lions would tack on one more goal in the second period to take a 5-1 lead to halftime. The Crusaders finished with 11-shots in the first half while Young Harris delivered 22, including a 17-shot second period.

The Mountain Lions would extend their lead to 9-1 with four goals in the third period before Drew Wassenaar scored the first goal of the second half for the Crusaders. Wassenaar's goal was unassisted and cut YHC's lead to seven. Alex Proly's sixth goal of the season would cap the second period scoring and pull NGU to within six.

The two squads would trade goals in the fourth quarter as Proly and Wassenaar both added their second goals of the game. The Mountain Lions added goals at the nine-minute mark and the 2:13 mark.

North Greenville falls to 2-3 on the season with a game against Alabama-Huntsville scheduled for Saturday at 1pm. NGU and UAH will faceoff in Pepsi Stadium in Tigerville.
