Tigervill, S.C.—The NGU Men's Lacrosse team fell 18-8 to Belmont Abbey College in the final home game of the 2015 season.
The Crusaders trailed 8-2 at halftime as Drew Wassenaar found the back of the net twice, scoring one each in the first and second periods. The Crusaders scored three straight in the third period to cut the Belmont lead to 9-5. The Crusaders from North Carolina answered with three unanswered of their own to regain a sizeable 12-5 advantage.
Wassenaar would score once more in the fourth while Ethan Gray would pocket two goals to pull the Crusaders to within eight. BAC would finish the game on a 3-0 run to put the NGU comeback attempt on ice as NGU fell to 1-13 overall and 1-4 in league play.
Wassenaar finished the day with four goals while Ethan Gray and Brandon Petter had two each. Hunter Burgett finished the day with two assists Jared Stapleton had 23 saves. NGU will wrap up the 2015 season on April 21st at Emmanuel College.
