Marietta, G.A. - The North Greenville Crusaders men's lacrosse lost to Lynn University 16-6 in Marietta, Georgia.
The Crusaders got off to a quick start against Lynn University winning the first three face offs of the game. North Greenville would strike first and take a 1-0 lead over the Fighting Knights. The goal was scored by Drew Wassenaar with an assist by Dieter Truesdell. Lynn would not take long to even the game at 1-1 with 6:11 left in the first quarter. Just a minute later the Fighting Knights would score again to make the score at the end of the first quarter 2-1.
North Greenville's offense would come out cold in the second quarter not scoring a single goal in the entire quarter. While the Crusader's offense was cold Lynn would take advantage of penalties committed by North Greenville scoring five of their six goals in this quarter a man up. The Fighting Knights would score three goals within the span of one minute and forty-five seconds. The score at the end of the second period was 8-1.
The second half would begin with both teams swapping goals bringing the score to 9-2. The goal by the Crusaders would be scored by Wassenaar, being his second of the night, this one being assisted by Ethan Gray. The Fighting Knights would once again take this quarter over offensively going on a 5-0 run to end the quarter. This run by Lynn University would bring the score to 14-2 at the end of three quarters.
The Crusaders would come out striking first in the fourth quarter with a goal scored by Truesdell, and was assisted by Wassenaar. Both teams would trade goals yet again, but the goal scored by North Greenville would be a hat trick for Drew Wassenaar. The Crusaders would pick up two more goals before game end by Connor Smith, and Ethan Gray. The late goals would not be enough as The Lynn University Fighting Knights would take this one 16-6.
