Tigerville, S. C. - The North Greenville Crusaders came up short for their first ever win in program history. The Crusaders lost to Shorter University Hawks 18-8.

Shorter University came out firing in the first period out shooting North Greenville 14-4. The Crusaders were able to defend the shots in the period having 4 saves and the other 6 shots going wide, while the Hawks were only able to score 4 goals in the period. The Crusaders were able to score 2 goals on their very low amount of 4 shots in the period. North Greenville was able to outduel Shorter in the groundballs for this period 10-9.

The uneven advantage of shots continued into the second period as the Hawks outshot the Crusaders 10-2 in this period. The Crusaders were shutout in this period being out scored 3-0. The Crusaders were able to take advantage of all clears during this period going 6-6, while the Hawks completed the period 7-8. Shorter was able to take advantage of the North Greenville's turnovers this period 3-9. The Hawks would lead going into the half 7-2.

The Hawks would come out of the locker room not cooling off out shooting the Crusaders 11-6. North Greenville would have a problem staying out of the penalty box this period committing 2 penalties compared to Shorter's lone penalty. The Crusaders would make this period much closer than the others, but still coming up short to Shorter 5-3.

In the fourth and final period of the first ever men's lacrosse game on the campus of North Greenville the Crusaders would score the most of any period with 4 goals, but would still be out scored by the Hawks of Shorter University 6-4. This would conclude the game giving Shorter the victory at 18-8. The leading goal scorer for the Crusaders was freshman Dieter Truesdell with four goals, while the freshman goalie Will Thorton collected 15 saves.
