Tigerville, S.C. – Head men’s lacrosse coach Corey Struss has officially announced the roster for the inaugural season of men’s lacrosse at North Greenville University, set to start in February of 2015.

The roster includes players from all over North America, including players from South Carolina, Canada, California, and Maryland.  “we’ve been referring to this group of young men as ‘Team One’, and I really think they are ready to embrace the challenge with laying the foundation for North Greenville University Men’s Lacrosse,” remarked Struss. “We have made our recruiting presence known throughout the country in a short time span, and we want to continue to reach out to the best talent all over the country.”

Struss tapped the state of South Carolina for half of his roster, pulling 20 commitments from the state. 16 of the 20 are from the upstate of South Carolina while others come from the midlands and Myrtle Beach. Five of the 34 players hale from California, two each are from Maryland and Canada, while Maryland, New York, Georgia, Tennessee and Nevada claim the residence of one NGU lacrosse player.

“This is a national recruiting class – we’ve got guys from some great programs in California, Nevada, Georgia, Maryland, New York, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Canada,” says Struss. “I believe that we have a group of very talented student-athletes that are ready to write the history of the program and leave their legacy as Crusaders.  With a class as large as this, it is imperative that we establish the right culture, set the bar high, and grow as a family every chance we get.  The coaching staff and myself cannot wait to get started this Fall with such a high-quality group of young men.”
