The North Greenville Crusaders returned from Carrollton, Georgia with a 7th place finish in the Matt Dyas Invitational, which was hosted by the University of West Georgia at the Oak Mountain Championship Golf Club. NGU began the three-round tournament with a total of 300 strokes in round one. That same afternoon, they followed up with an impressive total of 281 total strokes in the second round. Today, the Crusaders concluded the tournament with a total of 294 for a tournament total of 875 strokes (+11).
Evans Lewis was the lowest-shooting Crusader for the second time this season. He began his tournament with a total of 75 strokes (+3) before improving with a total of 69 strokes (-3) in the second and third rounds for a total of 213 strokes (-3). He tied for 13th place individually.
Austin Duncan started off his tournament by posting 76 strokes (+4) in the opening round. In the second round, he recorded North Greenville's lowest round of the tournament with a total of 68 strokes (-4). Wrapping up the tournament with a total of 74 strokes (+2) in round three, he posted a total of 218 strokes (+2), tying for 21st place individually.
Zachary McDermid recorded a total of 75 strokes (+3) to begin his tournament. He followed that up with a total of 70 strokes (-2) and finished his tournament with a round three score of 76 strokes (+4) for a total of 221 strokes (+5), which tied for 31st individually.
Daniel Planchock was very consistent, posting 74 strokes (+2) in rounds one and two before shooting 75 strokes (+3) for a total of 223 strokes (+7). That score tied him for 34th place.
Kobie Morton began with a total of 81 strokes (+9) in round one. He bounced back in round two, posting 78 strokes (+6) and concluded things with 82 strokes (+10) in round three for a total of 241 strokes (+25).
NGU will return to action in 2020. They will take place in the Spring Kickoff in St. Augustine, Florida on Monday, February 10th.
