NGU Men's Golf took a 10th place finish out of 19 teams in the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate in St. Augustine, Florida. As a team, NGU finished with a score of +58 and hit a total of 922 strokes in three rounds. Evans Lewis and Austin Duncan finished with a total score of +8.
Evans Lewis started his tournament on a positive note, tying two other Crusaders with a score of 74 (+2) in their opening round. He then followed up with the best round for North Greenville in the tournament with a 71 (-1) in his second round. After posting a +2 on the front nine in round three, he struggled on the back nine, recording a +5 for a total round score of 79 (+7) for a total tournament par of +8.
Austin Duncan began with a good opening round, posting a 74 (+2). Duncan then improved in the second round by one stroke with a score of 73 (+1). In round three, he recorded a score of 77 (+5) for a total tournament par of +8.
Kobie Morton started off with a good opening round of 74 (+2), which included a back nine score of 35 (-1). Morton struggled in round two, posting a score of 86 (+14). He did recover slightly in his final round, recording a score of 81 (+9) and a total tournament par of +25.
Josiah Ledford in the opening round with a score of 83 (+11). However, he improved in the second round with a score of 78 (+6) including a score of 35 (-1) on the front nine. In his final round, he posted a score of 80 (+8) for a tournament par of +25.
Matthew Campbell was consistent in his opening round, posting a score of 38 (+2) on both the front and back nine for a total round score of 76 (+4). Campbell had a tough second round, posting a score of 85 (+13). He did improve in his third and final round with a score of 81 (+9) and finishing with a tournament par of +26.
The Crusaders will return to action on Monday, March 4th to take part in the Southern Tide Classic at the Green Valley Country Club in Greenville, SC.
