Tigerville, S.C. – North Greenville golf added a familiar face to its staff this summer with the hiring of Morgan Reece as the program’s graduate assistant as announced by head coach Robbie Edwards.
Reece was a four-year qualifier for North Greenville on the women’s side of the program and returns to the Crusaders for her first season of mentoring. Originally from Gainesville, Georgia, she was named the team’s Freshman of the year (2015) and was the program’s Most Valuable player in 2016. Reece also tacked on an All-Tournament Team nod.
The two-time team captain could commonly be seen in the top – 20 finishers as she scored five with a pair of 15th place cards with a top – 10 finish to her credit. Reece’s best finish as a Crusader came in 2015 when she finished fifth at the Anderson tournament. Also to her credit, Reece paced the Crusaders with nine team-best finishes including leading the team twice in the Conference Carolinas Championships.
Reece’s impact on the Crusaders was apparent in her senior campaign as she helped lead NGU to a first-place finish at the Cherokee Valley Invite, the club’s first tournament win in six seasons. The senior also helped North Greenville to a third-place finish at the conference championships, the best finish for the program since finishing third in 2013.
Reece will serve as the Graduate Assistant for both the men’s and women’s golf teams and will also help with recruiting and day-to-day operations.
