Conover, S.C. – North Greenville men’s golf will play in the 2018 NCAA Southeast Regional Tournament this coming weekend at the Rock Barn Country Club in Hickory, North Carolina.

The Crusaders earned the automatic bid to the tournament after winning the Conference Carolinas tournament title over the likes of Limestone, Barton College, and Belmont Abbey.

North Greenville made the field as the ninth team in the Southeast Region, a tournament which will include four teams ranked in the top – 10 of the Golf Coaches Association of America and four teams ranked within the top – 25 of the GCAA.

Among the top – 10 teams are USC Aiken which was tabbed the #1 seed in the South East Regional as well As #7 Newberry who will take up the second seed. #9 Limestone will serve as the region’s four seed while Columbus State will be the third seed and is ranked 10th in the nation. Carson Newman (18), Lincoln Memorial (19), Lander (17), and Young Harris at #21 round out the team rankings for the 2018 regional.

This season the Crusaders turned in four top-three finishes with a pair of wins including the Conference Carolinas Championship. One the top three finishes for North Greenville was at the Southeast Region Preview in October, a tournament that was held at the same country club as this weekend’s NCAA regional. The Crusaders finished third with a 580 stroke total. NGU finished a spot ahead of nationally ranked Lincoln Memorial in the tournament.

The regional will be played on May 7th – May 9th and hosted by Lenoir-Rhyne University.
