Tigerville, S.C. – North Greenville golf finished third at the Cherokee Valley Invitational behind Queens University and Southern Wesleyan.
Pfeiffer University finished in the fifth spot while Emmanuel and Milligan rounded out the top six. The top individual finisher for the tournament was John McFadyen of Queens University. McFadyen shot a pair of 69’s and a 70 to finish the week at 208, nine strokes in front of the second-place finisher, Briar Herd from Southern Wesleyan.
North Greenville’s top finisher for the week was Seth Robertson who was one of two top-10 qualifiers for the Crusaders. Robertson put up a 79 in the first round but rebounded nicely on the second time around, shaving off seven strokes to shoot a 72. In his final time out on Tuesday, the sophomore carded a 73, earning himself a sixth-place finish with a total of 224.
Also, coming on strong for the Crusaders in their home tournament was Chase Fisher who wrapped up the week with his best finish of the year, dating all the way back to the fall. Fisher finished the 54-hole tournament with an eighth-place finish, just one stroke back of Robertson. His three-day total of 225 consisted or rounds of 71, 79, and 75, resulting in his first top-10 finish of the season.
Christian Dibert rounded out the top-10 finishers for the Crusaders and for the tournament. Dibert earned a 10th place finish for the week after shooting a 71, 76, and a 79. He concluded the week with a three-round total of 226. Evan Gfeller finished the week just outside the top-10 as he finished 12th overall and fourth on the team. Gfeller shot a 71 to open the tournament followed by an 81 in round two, and a 76 in the closing round.
Other scores for the Crusaders included Vijay Mishra who finished in 19th with a 233 (77/75/81) and Josiah Ledford who finished 36th with a total of 243 (75/86/82). Christian Constance finished in 56th with a total of 263 (86/86/91).
Next up for the Crusaders is the Conference Carolinas Championships on April 23-25 at the Cutter Creek Country Club in Snow hill, North Carolina.
