Killen, AL—The North Greenville Men's Golf Team wrapped up its first 54-hole tournament of the season on Tuesday with an eighth place finish at the TVA Credit Union Invite, hosted by Turtle Point Yacht and Country Club.
The Crusaders found themselves in a first place tie after the first round n Monday afternoon, shooting a 297 along with Lee University and Columbus State. But NGU and Lee put up identical scores 296 in the second round to drop to fourth place following 36-holes on Monday.
Christian Constance shot a round one low 67 in his first 18 holes of play to lead North Greenville as the only player under par. Constance finished the tournament shooting a 220 after a 72 on his second trip through the course and an 81 on Tuesday. His finish of 11th was the only NGU finish in the top 25.
Evan Gfeller wrapped up the week with finishing 32nd. The sophomore shot in the 70's in all three rounds, finishing with a tournament total of 227 following a round of 75 sandwiched between two scores of 76. Seth Robertson was NGU's next highest finisher after posting a score of 230, good enough for 42nd. Robertson carded NGU's only par score of the third round with a 72, on Tuesday. He improved 10 strokes from round one to three after shooting an 82 on Monday.
Chase Fisher and Mac Bradley finished back-to-back in 46th and 47th places. Fisher shot a 231 while Bradley finished a stroke behind with a 232.
The Crusaders will take on the Matt Dyas Memorial Invitational on October 26th and 27th. The tournament will be hosted by West Georgia at the Oak Mountain Golf Club in Carrolton, Georgia.
