Fleming Island, FL-- North Greenville men's golf opened up the 2016 season with a fourth place finish at The Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate, hosted by Lincoln Memorial College.
Armstrong State took the title as the finished with a 13 over par, while Carson Newman and Palm Beach Atlantic took the second and third spots with a +17 and a +22. North Greenville pulled in the fourth spot with a +23. The Crusaders finished the 56-hole competition with a team total of 874 on a course that played 6,677 yards with a 71-par.
NGU took home fourth as a team, but Christian Constance earned the individual title as he shot a three round total of 204, a total of nine under par. Constance set the tone of the tournament on day one as he carded out with a 64. He finished his second and third rounds with a 68 and a 72.
Evan Gfeller was NGU's next best qualifier as he shot a three round total of 223, earning him the 28th spot. Seth Robertson earned North Greenville's other top 35 finish as he reeled in 34th place with a total of 224. Robertson's best round came in the second 18 when he carded a 69. Chase Fisher (54th) finished the week with a 228 while ViJay Misha (61st) shot a three round total of 231.
North Greenville will travel to Kiawah Island, South Carolina next week to play in the Newberry College Invitational.
