Travelers Rest, S.C.—The NGU Men's Golf team finished its home tournament in 5th place Tuesday afternoon after the final round of the Cliffs Intercollegiate, hosted by Cliffs at Mountain Park.
NGU's best finisher was Chase Fisher who finished in a tie for seventh place after shooting a 146. Fisher was two over par on Monday but improved two strokes on day two to shoot a 72. Tucker MacDonald was NGU's only other top finisher, shooting a two day total of 149 after a 75 and a 74.
Faulkner University took the top spot in the team standings after finishing with a 583, in two days of play. Brevard College earned the second spot while Queens took home third. UNC Pembroke was one spot ahead of NGU in the fourth position.
The Crusaders struggled on their home course, but still managed to keep their streak of top five finishes in tact. Christian Constance finished the weekend six over par, while Evan Gfeller struggled, shooting at nine over. Same Goodnight was 14 over.
The Crusaders have finished in the top five for five consecutive tournaments. NGU's next time on the course will be at the Conference Carolinas Championships in Greensboro, North Carolina on April 18-21.
