Men's Golf Finishes 5th In Conference Championship
Burlington, NC – Competing in the Conference Carolinas Championship over the weekend, the North Greenville University men’s golf team finished 5th overall in the team standings.
The Top 4 teams in the overall standings will play tomorrow, to determine the final team standings with Belmont Abbey College leading the charge with a total score of 290-284-574 after two rounds.
Barton College is currently in second place after shooting 289-289-578, while Queens University (299-288-587) and Limestone College (297-296-593) also advance to medal play. North Greenville narrowly missed the final round after shooting a team total of 302-299-601, falling eight strokes short of an extra day on the course.
Junior Josh ONeal led the Crusaders with a two-day total of 75-73-148 to finish in a tie for 13th in the individual standings, while Third Team All-Conference selection Danny Dippel shot 72-77-149 to tie for 16th overall.
A host of sophomores rounded out the final individual scores for North Greenville as Tucker MacDonald tied for 24th overall with a score of 77-75-152 as Joshua Hopwood (88-74-162) and Sam Goodnight (78-84-162) each tied for 46th in the final standings.
The Crusaders conclude their fall season with four Top 5 finishes in five matches, including a victory in the Cherokee Valley Invitational.
