Pineville, KY – In the final Fall match before the NCCAA Championships, the North Greenville University men’s golf team recorded a 9th overall finish in the State Farm Intercollegiate.
For the two-day tournament, the Crusaders shot a total score of 303-304-607 to tie for 9th place with Lenoir-Rhyne University. King College took home the overall team title with a score of 293-289-582, a slight two-stroke victory over Lincoln Memorial University, which shot a total score of 301-283-584. Tusculum College (299-291-590), Belmont Abbey College (297-299-596) and Walters State Community College (304-298-602) rounded out the Top 5 in the team standings.
In the individual standings, Lincoln Memorial’s Jamie Chapman took home the trophy with a two-round total of 73-66-139, three strokes ahead of King’s Richard Powell, who finished the tournament with a total score of 72-70-142.
North Greenville’s top finisher was junior Adam Black who earned a tie for 15th with a total score of 77-72-1149. Senior Danny Dippel followed close behind with a score of 73-78-151 to finish tied for 26th, while sophomore Tucker MacDonald finished tied for 38th with a score of 75-78-153. Sophomore Joshua Hopwood tied for 45th overall with a score of 79-76-155 and freshman Mac Bradley rounded out the individual scoring for the Crusaders, finishing tied for 51st overall with a two-round total of 78-78-156.
The Crusaders will now have a week to prepare for the NCCAA Championship which will be held on Oct. 22-24 in Panama City Beach, FL.
