Tigerville, SC – After finishing day one just three shots out of the lead, the North Greenville University men’s golf team dropped to a 4th place finish on day two in the Cherokee Valley Invitational on Cherokee Valley Golf Course.
Barton College led from start to finish and received the overall team champion award with a two-day total of 298-300-598 to edge out Limestone College (303-300-603) by five strokes. Tri-County Community College (307-304-611), North Greenville (301-311-612) and Montreat College (320-317-637) rounded out the Top 5 team standings.
As for the individuals, Brevard’s Kim Koivu was named individual champion with an impressive 66-70-136 to earn a four-stroke victory over Tri-County’s Dalton Ward, who finished the tournament with a score of 69-71-140.
Adam Black, a transfer from Presbyterian College, was North Greenville’s top finished as he earned a third place finish with a tournament total of 76-72-148. Danny Dippel (73-80-153) and Joshua Hopwood (75-80-155) also earned Top 10 finishes by placing 7th and 10th overall respectively.
