Wilson, NC – The North Greenville University men’s golf team struggled to a 12th place finish in the Barton Intercollegiate on March 19-20 at the Wilson Country Club.
The Crusaders finished 12th overall out of 18 total teams with a two day score of 310-306-616, 47 strokes behind team champion Barton College which finished the tournament with a combined score of 280-289-569.
Barton’s Daniel Claytor was named individual champion with a two round total of 68-67-135, while North Greenville’s Adam Black was the top finishing Crusader with a score of 76-74-150, good enough for a tie for 27th place.
Sam Goodnight finished the tournament tied for 42nd with a score of 78-76-154, while Josh ONeal (78-79)and Tucker MacDonald (80-77)both tied for 52nd place with identical scores of 157. Danny Dippel was the last Crusader as he finished the tournament tied for 65th overall with a total score of 78-83-161.
North Greenville will be on the links once again on March 26-27 when they host the Cherokee Valley Spring Invitational in Tigerville, SC.
