Crusaders Place 4th In NCCAA Championship

Palm Beach City, FL – In the final round of play in the NCCAA Championship, the North Greenville men’s golf team shot a total score of 305-303-298(906) to finish in fourth place overall.


The Crusaders finished 19 strokes behind tournament team champion California Baptist (887). Dallas Baptist (901) finished in second place, Southeastern University (903) finished in third and Trevecca Nazarene University (911) finish in fifth to round out the Top 5 team standings.


Among individuals, freshman Tucker MacDonald shot a final round even-par 72 to finish the tournament with a score of 73-78-72(223) good enough for 10th place overall, 10 shots back of individual champion Justin Burns of Central Baptist College.


Danny Dippel shot a tournament total of 79-72-75(226) to finish tied for 13th, while Josh O’Neal finished tied for 26th after a three-day total of 83-72-75(230). Chancen Blackwood finished tied for 41st after a total 79-81-76(236) and Joshua Hopwood shot a total 74-90-82(246) to finish tied for 54th.


The Crusaders finish the 2011 season having finished in the Top 10 in four of five tournaments, including two Top 5 finishes as a team and one individual champion as MacDonald won the title in the Cherokee Valley Fall Invitational.
