Panama City Beach, FL – In the second round of the NCCAA Championship, the men’s golf team finished with a two-day score of 305-303(608) to finish the tournament in fifth place.
The Crusaders finished 12 shot back of team champion California Baptist, which shot a total 294-302(596) to take home the title. Dallas Baptist (601), Trevecca Nazarene University (603) and Southeastern University (607) finished second, third and fourth respectively.
On day two of the individual championship, freshman Tucker MacDonald slipped eight spots to finish the day tied for 15th after a second round 78 and Danny Dippel moved up 25 spots in the standings to a tied for 15th after a second round even par 72.
Josh O’Neal also shot an even par 72 and moved up 33 spots into a tie for 31st, while Chancen Blackwood dropped nine spots into a tied for 49th with a second round 81. After an impressive first round, Joshua Hopwood struggled mightily on the second day and dropped 53 spots into a tie for 63rd after a second round 90.
The third and final round of play for individuals begins tomorrow at 7:45 a.m.
