Crusader golf struggles on day two of Tusculum Fall Classic

Greenville, TN – With only two shots separating the first-place Crusaders and the second place Pioneers of Tusculum College after day one, the North Greenville men’s golf team needed a strong finish in the Tusculum Fall Classic to hold on to the lead. The Crusaders were unable to get the strong play needed and finished the tournament in sixth place.


The Crusaders shot a team total of 282-296 (578) to finish 19 shots back of tournament winner Limestone College, who moved from third to first in the final round.


In the individual standings, senior Andrew Beck continued his strong play to finish tied for 9th place with a two-day total of 69-72 (141). Richard Smith followed closely behind with a total score of 71-72 (143) to finish tied for 18th while Chancen Blackwood tied for 35th with a score of 73-73 (148). Danny Dippel tied for 38th place after shooting 69-80 (149) and Josh O’Neal shot 75-77 (152) to finish tied for 49th.


The Crusaders will be in competition again Oct. 11-12 in the NCCAA National Championships in Panama City Beach, FL.
