Brad Caldwell, a senior sport management major from Waynesville, NC, has been named a NCAA Division II Ping Honorable Mention All-American it was announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Caldwell, who led the Crusaders to a standout year, finished tied for 25th at the NCAA Southeast Regional Tournament after shooting a three-round total of 216. He fired a one over par 72 in all three rounds (Wilson (NC) Country Club is a 71 par course). Caldwell was the number one individual seed in the tournament and was playing for the right to represent the southeast region in the 2010 NCAA National Tournament. He finished the tournament 11 strokes behind the individual leader from Queens University of Charlotte who shot a tournament total 205.
A four-year letterman and a NCCAA All-American as well, Caldwell led NGU to a 5th place finish at the NCCAA National Championship tournament in October, 2009. NGU was also first at the Lincoln Memorial Invitational, the Cherokee Valley Invitational (hosted by NGU) and the Independent Collegiate Invitational in April.
