Tigerville, S.C.—Senior golfer Brad Caldwell has qualified to represent North Greenville University in the NCAA Southeast Regional Tournament held in Wilson, North Carolina.
The tournament is hosted by Barton College and will be held on May 3rd through May 5th at the Wilson Country Club. Caldwell has qualified as the tournaments #1 individual seed.
“It’s bitter sweet” said Caldwell when asked how he felt about the tournament. “I wish my team could be there playing with me but I’m going to do my best to make it to the championship and bring one home for North Greenville.”
The individual tournament boasts a four player field. Along side Caldwell will be players from Clayton State, Georgia Southwestern State, and University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
“My goal coming when to play at NGU was to get better and to find a path to play professional golf,” says Caldwell on his career at NGU. “I feel I have accomplished that and I definitely believe this tournament is a huge opportunity for me as well as for North Greenville.”
During the 2009-2010 season, Brad Caldwell finished in the top eight in eight tournaments with three runners up finishes and one win. He also made five All-Tournament Teams.
Should Caldwell win the Southeast tournament, he will qualify for a spot in the National Tournament held May 18th through the 22nd in Noblesville, Indiana at the Sagamore Club.
