The North Greenville golf team finished the first day of the Lincoln Memorial Fall Invitational in second place a meager one stroke behind the tournament leader and host Lincoln Memorial University.
The Crusaders shot a 288 on the first day and they would equal that total on the second day.
Tournament leader LMU finished the second day shooting a 289. The Crusaders and Lincoln Memorial finished the two day tournament tied for first with a tournament total 586. Individually the Crusaders were lead by Brad Caldwell who shot a 2nd day 71 and a total of 142. Caldwell finished tied for fourth place and made the all tournament team. Other individual scores for the Crusaders were Richard Smith who shot a 71 and a tournament total 144, Andrew Beck who shot a 72 and tournament total 145, Brandon Coggins who shot a 74 and a tournament total 145, and Tyler Batts who shot a 78 and tournament total 153. The 288 shot on both days and the tournament total 586 is the best tournament the Crusaders have shot in several years. “It was definitely our best tournament to date” said head coach Jeff Pittillo, “The guys were really consistent both days and it showed in the scores.”
