Brevard Battle Golf comes in second after day one

The Crusader’s golf team is currently in second after day one at the Montreat Spring Invitational in Brevard, NC.

NGU’s very own Brandon Coggins is tied for first place with Brevard’s Grant Carnie, each shooting a 71, one-under par. Brad Williams and Luke McClellan of Limestone College, Chad Skinner of Mars Hill and Greg Jaeggie of Spartanburg Methodist are all tied for second with a score of 72. While Crusader teammates Brad Caldwell and Andrew Beck are tied for third with Kyle Scruggs of Limestone and Anthony Conn of Southern Wesleyan University, all accumulating a one-shot-over par 73.
“The conditions were extremely wet and fairly cool, which is always a difficult thing to overcome,” said Coach Jeff Pittillo.  “I was very pleased with how they all played.”
The Men will be back on the green tomorrow, March 17, to finish out the tournament.
