NGU Finishes 7 of 16 at Outback Invitational

Panama City Beach, Fla. – The Outback Steakhouse Tournament ended today with a first place victory for Columbus State, followed by Clayton State and Armstrong Atlantic in second and third, respectively

NGU’s Crusaders tied for seventh with Cape Fear Community College. Junior Brad Caldwell led the team both days, shooting a 71-79. Juniors Richard Smith and Brandon Coggins were also major contributors. Smith shot a consistent 79 both days, while Coggins added a 76-79, to a Crusader over all score of 618.

The Hombre Golf Club was a difficult course for North Greenville. They also had to play in some rather inclement weather. The men teed off this morning in 39 degree temperatures, in addition to playing all day with 15-20 mile per hour winds.

“We played ok despite the conditions,” said Coach Jeff Pittillo. “ Our scores went up today, but we were basically tied for seventh yesterday as well, so we were able to maintain our position.”
