The North Greenville men’s golf will travel to Panama City Beach, FL in quest of a National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) national championship Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 13-14, and Coach Jeff Pittillo likes his team’s chances over The Hombre Golf Course.

“I think we’ve got a legitimate shot to win this year,” Pittillo said.  We return our top three golfers who competed last year and we lost by only 10 shots in 2007.  I expect some great golf to be played next week.”

NGU was third in the NCCAA nationals last year, shooting a two-round 607 to finish just behind Southeastern University of Lakeland, FL.  NGU junior Brad Caldwell (Waynesville, NC) earned All-American honors last year as he shot 74-73 = 147 to finish sixth.  Other top performances from last year were turned in by Brandon Coggins (JR, Gaffney, SC) 77-75 = 152 (T14), and Andrew Beck (SO Fletcher, NC) 73-80 = 153 (T 20).

Combined with the golf tournament is a Christian Service Project that each of the teams participate in to donate money back to the Panama City community.
NGU finished 7th at the Anderson Invitational in September this year, and was 8th at the Tusculum Tournament in early October.
