Crusader golf 3 shots back at NCCAAs

Panama City Beach, Florida—Southeastern University leads the way after the first day of the NCCAA Golf Championship being conducted at The Hombre Golf Club. On a gorgeous day with light winds and warm temperatures, the Fire shot 298 and holds a three shot lead over North Greenville University.

Ten teams are within 11 shots of the lead going into the final round which should be quite shootout. Olivet Nazarene University (302), Spring Arbor University (303), and Southern Wesleyan University (305) round out the top five teams.

In the individual competition, Matt Parziale of Southeastern University, leads with a one under total of 70. He holds a two shot lead over Austin Conroy of Indiana Wesleyan University with three players tied for third at 73.

As part of the Christian Service Project connected with event, the NCCAA presented the Panama City Rescue Mission with a gift of $1000 for their efforts in the local area. Rescue Mission director Rev. Billy Fox expressed his thanks for the assistance by stating, “This gift will allow us to continue to reach the adults we serve for Christ and we are most appreciative.”
