Season Preview: Men's Cross Country Hopes to Continue to Make Strides

The North Greenville Men's Cross Country program comes off a successful 2017 season that included a 3rd-place finish in the Conference Carolinas Championship and a trip to the NCAA Southeast Regional. Expectations are high in 2018 as the Crusaders have been placed 3rd in the Conference Carolinas preseason poll. Cameron Stober begins his fifth season as head coach of the Cross Country programs. NGU will rely on several proven veterans, but will also need strong performances from a talented group of freshmen in order to make an impact in 2018.

Key Returners

Brooks Hovis will begin his junior campaign in 2018. He placed 15th in the 2017 Conference Carolinas Championship, the highest among this year's returners. Hovis also placed 45th in the 2017 NCAA Southeast Regional.

Jonathan Keller also had a strong showing in the 2017 Conference Carolinas Championship, placing 18th. He finished 20th in the same meet in 2016. Keller returns for his junior season in 2018.

Trey Stewart is the lone senior in 2018. Stewart placed 29th in the 2017 Conference Carolinas Championship.
