Greenville, S.C. – North Greenville Cross Country wrapped its second race in as many weeks on Saturday morning with finishes of 8th for the women and 15th for the men.
NGU clocked in in the 8th position finishing ahead of 10 other opponents. Kaleigh Roach cemented herself in the school record books on Saturday as she finished 33rd overall out of 164-runners. Roach set a school record in the 6000-meter with a time of 24:06. Roach defeated her own school record in the race.
Amanda Ward was the next best finisher for the Crusaders as she broke the tape in 65th place with a time of 25:24. Cori Small Finished in 76th with a time of 25:48 while Hope Weisman crossed the finish line in a time of 26:04.
Other times for NGU included a time of 26:47 for Nayeley Valenciano, a 27:25 for Victoria Davies, a 27:48 for Katherine Cruz, and a 28:02 for Shelby Wright.
For the men, Austin Nobles led the way, finishing first for NGU for the first time in his college career. Nobles broke the tape in 29:31, wrapping up the 8000-meter race in 121st out of 181 runners.
Clocking in second for the men’s team was Trey Stewart who finished three spots behind Nobles with a time of 29:40. Stewart was NGU’s top runner a week ago, finishing in 124th for the Crusaders at Furman.
Other finishes for the Crusaders include Dominic Powell who finished 129th with a time of 29:55, Andrew Hill crossed the finish line with a time of 30:58, a finish of 147th, a 31:11 (151st place) for Jacob Grigg, a 31:25 for Alejandro Sanchez, and a 33:17 for Zachary Chastaine.
The Crusaders will take to the track again on September 24th at the Bulldog Stampede hosted by Wingate University.
