Milligan, TN—The North Grenville men's and women's cross country teams opened up the 2015 race calendar on Friday evening with a pair of second place finishes at the Buffalo Valley Cross Country Stampede hosted by Milligan College.
In a similar result, both the men's and women's teams finished about a minute off of the lead as host, Milligan earned the two top spots. The women finished with an average 20:46 while the men finished at 21:35.
Kaleigh Roach paced the NGU ladies after breaking the ribbon at 19:36, two minutes off the 17:59 winner from Milligan. North Greenville runners wrapped up the 7th through 10th spots. Amanda Ward (20:47), Hailey Willingham (20:53), and Tori Davies (20:56) finished 7th-9th while Rebecca Watson rounded out the top 10 with a 21:36.
The top finisher for the men was junior Ben Sessions who notched an 8th place finish after clocking in at 21:16. Jordan Ferguson was North Greenville's only other top 10 finisher after placing 10th, running a 21:22. Dominic Powell had the next highest finish for the Crusaders stopping the clock at 21:23. Daniel Wade and Trey Stewart also turned in top 15 finishes.
North Greenville will be back in action on September 12th at the Furman Invitational.
