Wingate, N.C.—The North Greenville men’s and women’s cross country teams finished their final regular season races of the season on Saturday, both finishing in third place at the Bulldog Stampeded, hosted by Wingate University.

NGU’s top two finishers for the day were Zoe Engwall for the women and Ahmad Nesbitt for the men. Engwall turned in the only top 10 finish for the women on Saturday, running a 19:42, which was good enough for ninth place. Engwall’s time was also a new personal record. Ahmad Nesbitt also turned in a solid finish for the Crusaders, finishing in first place, a very familiar spot for him. Nesbitt finished with a time of 26:10, 45 seconds better than the next closest finisher. Saturday was the third first place finish of the season for Nesbitt.

Amanda Ward also turned in a new personal record on Saturday, crossing the finish line in 20:07 which finished her in 14th. Kelly Knutson also earned a top 20 finish with a 16th place finish after clocking in at 20:48. Ellen Cunniff rounded out North Greenville’s top four finishers stopping the clock at 22:05, finishing her in 24th place.

The Crusader men had two runners finish back to back, in 26th and 27th place as Jacob Grigg ran a 30:01 and Josh Wilkinson ran a 30:05. The Crusaders are now gearing up for the post season, as both teams prepare for the Conference Carolinas Championship scheduled for November 7th in Concord, North Carolina.
