Charlotte, N.C.—The North Greenville University men’s cross country team wrapped up the 2013 season on Saturday afternoon, finishing 15th out of 29 teams in the NCAA Southeast Regional cross country meet.
On par with the rest of the 2013 season, the Crusaders were paced by Ahmad Nesbitt who finished the race in 7th place overall, crossing the finish line in a time of 31:38. Finishing right behind Nesbitt was NGU’s Brett Morley who turned in another top ten finish, with a time of 31:46, finishing in 9th place.
Ravon Wamer finished in the 114th spot for the Crusaders with a 35:39 while Ben Wade ran a 35:55. Also running for the Crusaders was Kyle Henry (36:25), Jordan Ferguson (36:40), and Josh Wilkinson (37:31).
The top 25 finishers in Saturday’s race were honored post run, with all region honors. Both Nesbitt and Morley were recognized by the NCAA for their top 10 finish in the regional. Top finisher for the men was Conference Carolinas Champion Mount Olive College which finished with an average time of 31:45. King University also had a strong showing with a second place finish, finishing 19 seconds behind the Trojans.
The Crusaders finish the season with two first place finishes, and two third place finishes, including a third place finish behind Mount Olive and King in the Conference Carolinas championships.
