XC competed it first ever Conference Carolinas Championship

Charlotte, N.C. – North Greenville University Men’s Cross Country team competed in its first ever Conference Carolinas race on Friday October 21.  

 

The Crusaders men’s team competed in the 8k race hosted by Queens University at McAlpine Creek Park in the 2011 Conference Carolinas Cross Country Championship. The Crusaders were led by sophomore John Shealy with a time of 27:16 giving him a 35th place overall. Shealy was followed by Brandon Southern (27:55, 44th place), James Brooks (28:06, 46th place), John Wood (28:07, 47th place), Ravon Warner (28:36, 54th place), Will Belue (28:42, 56th place), and Ben Wade (29:17, 65th place). NGU finished with an average time of 28:00 and a 9th place beating Coker and Pfeiffer College.  

 

Coach Michael Bayne said, “That he was very pleased with the effort of his team today”. The Crusaders set personal best record for 7 of their runners and set new school records for fastest individual times and men team’s average.
