Men's XC team finished sixth in Furman Invitational.

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The North Greenville Men’s Cross Country team competed in the 39th Gene Mullin Furman Cross Country Invitational Saturday morning in Greenville, S.C. The men’s team came in finished second in D2 and sixth overall.

Freshman John Shealy lead the Crusaders with a 26th place (27:49) in the men’s 8k course. Sophomore Brandon Southern (36th, 28:28), sophomore Will Belue (41st, 28:58), freshman James Brooks (44th, 29:17, junior John Wood (44th, 29:28), freshman Blake Arnold (49th, 29:30), and junior Jacob Simms (52nd, 29:52) helped the Crusaders with a second place in D2 teams and sixth overall in the field of 12 teams, beating Conference Carolinas teams Coker College and St. Andrews

NGU will run at the Conference Carolinas League Championship in Charlotte, N.C. on October 21, 2011.    

Freshman Kelly Knutson and junior Ansley Boltin were the only two runners to race for the women’s team. Kelly Knutson crossed the finish line with a time of 21:10 and Boltin was closed behind with a time of 21:23 in the 5k race.
