Tigerville, SC - North Greenville fell to the Lions of Emmanuel College at Hayes Gymnasium with a final score of 88-74. Scoring droughts throughout the game proved to be costly for the Crusaders who shot just 37.1% for the game. Jalon Cokley led NGU with 17 points.
A disastrous start for North Greenville resulted in a 17-0 start for the Lions. NGU would get going with an 11-4 run, but Emmanuel would open their lead up even more with a 12-0 run to lead 33-11 with 8:18 remaining in the first half. However, North Greenville put up a solid fight to close out the deficit throughout the remainder of the half, and would go on to trail by just nine points at halftime.
After an even start to the second half, North Greenville would strike with an 8-0 run to tie the game at 52-52. From there, Emmanuel would effectively put away the game for good with a dominating 23-2 run to take a 75-54 lead. NGU put up a good fight throughout the remainder of the half, but the Lions would hang on without much of an issue for a fourteen point victory.
North Greenville will head to Gaffney, South Carolina on Saturday, January 25th to take on the Limestone Saints.
