Tigerville, S.C. -- North Greenville men's basketball inked two new Crusaders this week with the signings of Moses Merritt and Kovi Tate.
Moses Merritt has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend North Greenville University. Merritt is a 6-8 post from Marietta, GA and North Cobb Christian School. He averaged 10 points and 10 rebounds per game while playing for Coach Greg Matta. Merritt led his team to a 26-4 record and the Region 6-A Championship.
Coach Lister on Moses: “Mo is an impressive post player that can block shots and finish around the rim. He is a great athlete and runs the floor extremely well. Mo will make an impact on both ends of the floor and will have the opportunity to earn solid minutes early in his career. The NGU community will enjoy getting to know Mo and watching him succeed on the floor and in the classroom..”
Kovi Tate has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend North Greenville University. Tate is a 6-6 wing/post from McDonough, GA and Henry County High School. He averaged 10 points and 7 rebounds per game while playing for Coach Vincent Rosser at Henry County. Tate led his team to a 20+ win season and an appearance in the Georgia High School AAAA Final Four.
Coach Lister on Kovi: “Kovi is an athletic forward who can play in the post as well as face up to the basket. His size will allow him to be physical in the post but he can really run the floor and attack the basket. Kovi is a great rebounder and has the speed to be the first guy down the floor. We believe Kovi will make an impact early and is a great fit for North Greenville on and off the floor.”
