Tigerville, S.C. -- North Greenville dropped a Conference Carolinas matchup to Barton College 90-78 on Saturday afternoon in Tigerville.
NGU went toe to toe with the Bulldogs in the first half as Miguel Cartagena, who lead the team in scoring with 28, was one of only two for the Crusaders to reach double-digit points, along with Justin Dotson who had 14.
The Crusaders and Bulldogs headed to the locker rooms tied at 39, but the first half success did not transition into the second. The third place Bulldogs took and kept the lead using an 11-2 run to put NGU in a hole it couldn’t recover from.
North Greenville kept it close for much of the 2nd half but lacked answers for Barton’s 6’10” Forward, Daniel Westbrook who scored 27 points. NGU also had 14-turnovers that led to 23 points for the Bulldogs.
The Crusaders (8-14 overall, 3-12 Conference Carolinas) will take on the leagues number one team Limestone College on the road next Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
